Personality: He is a curious and social bird. He is slightly quarrelsome. He is protective, slightly stubborn, serious when he needs to be, nice, funny, respectful, quick-witted, bold, brave, and afraid of nothing. He is also brave, strong, and tough. He is very fond and protective of Anayeli.

History: He was born in the Santa Cruz Zoo in Bolivia. He didn't get along too well with his parents and siblings, and often tried to escape the enclosure. Eventually he escaped, and lived in the jungle for a few months before he was captured by smugglers and taken to Rio de Janeiro, then put in the back room of their hideout. Cruz hated being back in a cage. He still tried to escape, but soon gave up. But that didn't stop him from thinking about escaping. Occasionally, he would pick at the lock and try to figure it out. About a year and five months after he was brought there, another Red-fronted macaw was put in the room, on top of his cage. Being the curious and social type, he struck up brief conversations with the new bird whenever they could, whenever Nigel wasn't in the room. Cruz found out her name was Anayeli, and also some of her history; she left some parts out for reasons she wouldn't specify. Cruz told his story so far, and soon a friendship developed among the two. A couple more years went by, and their friendship had grown stronger. One night, just as he was about to pop the question to Anayeli, they, along with the other birds, were loaded onto a van and taken to an old airfield outside of Rio, then loaded onto a plane. Later in the flight, after Blu and Jewel helped the other birds escape (Anayeli was among them), he tried to escape his cage, but to no avail. When the plane crashed, as he sat there, he suddenly remembered something Anayeli had told him. Soon he was free from the cage's imprisonment. He flew off in search of Anayeli, who was also looking for him, fearing the worst after she saw the plane crash. They soon found each other and embraced. Later, as the sun was setting, Cruz popped the the question, and Anayeli said yes, happily, almost giddy. The two love each other more than anything, and their love will never fade.
