Personality:

Cinnamon is often described as having ‘an old head on young shoulders’, meaning that she’s a young horse with a mature attitude and personality. She’s quiet, serious and very thoughtful, with wisdom beyond her years and a tendency to get lost in thought. Her serious nature may make her seem a little cold and disapproving at times, but she’s a warm hearted mare who enjoys the companionship of likeminded adults. Boisterous foals and immature horses tend to annoy her, though.

History:

Cinnamon was born in the Cimarron Herd shortly after Strider disappeared. Everyone was heartbroken; believing the black stallion was dead, and even the birth of the chestnut filly couldn’t cheer the herd up. Esperanza in particular couldn’t even look at the filly; it was just too painful to be reminded of her lost mate. As such, Cinnamon grew up in a rather sad, quiet environment. The herd’s grief eased after a while, and when Spirit took over the leadership of his father’s herd the horses began to settle down into a normal routine of life again. But the first few years of her life had a powerful influence on Cinnamon. She grew up to be a serious, somewhat quiet mare, often described by other horses as having ‘an old head on young shoulders’.

Cinnamon left the Cimarron Herd in the spring of her 3rd year. She was never a very eye catching mare, but when stallions did approach her and invite her into their herds she always turned them down, feeling that most of them were too immature or inexperienced for her. It wasn’t that she thought they were foolish or ignorant; just that her early experiences in life had left her mature beyond her years and longing for someone equally mature to share her life with. As a result, she wandered alone or with small bands of mares for 3 years, before she met Hotspur.

The stallion was everything she’d been looking for in a male, and for the first time Cinnamon found herself attracted to a stallion. He seemed quiet and good natured, with plenty of experience with life. Eager to finally have a home of her own, Cinnamon joined his herd, and now lives happily with his other mares.
