Kelsey the Zombie was kind enough to make a more realistic version of my character Luna, so I decided to give the new girl her own profile.  Comments welcome.

Name: Luna (means moon).

Place of Birth: Nome, Alaska.

Age: About three.

Breed: 1/4 malamute, 1/4 Chow, 3/8 husky, 1/8 wolf.

Appearance: The new look is Kelsey the Zombie's handiwork.

Parents: Copper and Taya.

Siblings: Phoebe, Haley, three brothers (names never clarified).

Mate: Toby

Children: Arrow (adopted), Star, Angel (daughters), Caspar, Balthasar, and Melchior (sons).

Other Relatives: Balto and Jenna (grandparents) along with their various pups and their mates (Dusty is named in the stories). Her maternal grandmother, Tasha, is deceased, and her maternal grandfather, Steele, is missing and also presumed deceased. At least two known uncles on her mother's side, both deceased.  Rex and Terry are her in-laws, and by extension their descendants are her family as well. Her human family is called the Calvins, and she specifically belongs to Connie.

Connection to Balto: Granddaughter.

Personality: As fits the daughter of two skilled fighters, Luna is a strong and determined girl who took hold of her family's creed that "It's not what you are, but who you are" early in life.  Despite her pride in being descended from Balto, she made it a point not to flaunt her ancestry for fear of false friends who would care more about her bloodline than her heart.  For a time, she harbored a secret amusement at Toby's fascination with her grandfather, though he found that out soon after both of them learned the shocking truth that she was also related to Steele!

Since the day they met, she has shared a close bond with Toby, which was only strengthened when they fell in love in early adolescence. She finds him exasperating at times when he gets too reckless or headstrong, but is not inclined to harbor a grudge for long against anyone, least of all her best friend. Cheerful and fun-loving, she makes friends easily and has never lost one yet. Although like Toby her heartstrings are tightly bound to her home and her family, she has a great love of the wilderness and all things outdoors.

Luna is seldom overcome by any problem, although there have been times when an emotional blow devastated her.  Her heart is without a doubt both her greatest strength and weakness.  She is strong-willed, having more than once insisted on helping a friend or relative at the risk of her own life.  While her attitude is a bit trying at times, one thing is certain: she will never let a friend down, no matter what.

Talents: Resourceful and quick, Luna can adapt easily to any situation. Despite her diluted wolf's blood, she has remarkable speed and stamina, a determined disposition, and enough courage to face nearly any physical challenge. She is also highly intelligent and quick-witted, given to clever banter and gentle ribbing on her friends. Particularly helpful is her acute knowledge of the wilderness, an of the mysterious Code of the Wolf, a set of ancient lupine laws shared with her by her aunt Aleu. This skill once made her a life-saving diplomat.

Likes: Being with her family (especially the pups), playing, eating spaghetti.

Dislikes: False friends, bordom, being left out.

As my Character: Like a number of characters in Toby, Luna originated as a dragon.  However, her descent from Copper and Taya served as a valuable connection to the incomparable redwolf03 and her "Second Chance" series of fanfics. As her own entity, she is not unlike a unicorn by the same name I wrote about once: spunky, clever, and perhaps most interesting to write because of how often she disagrees with me.  Whereas Toby is, in many ways, myself in a dog's body, Luna tends to be a voice of reason when I feel uptight with enough bite to wake me up, but not enough to break the skin. On the other hand, she can be quite emotional at times in the face of cold, hard logic.

Like her predecessor, Luna tends to reflect what she gets from other people in a way that at least tries to motivate them to improve.

Other: Frequently visits her wolf kin, the Northern Lights Pack, just outside of Nome.
