Other information:

Personality:       In her early fawnhood days, Malia was a very playful doe, interested in everything and anything. She loved mishief and causing trouble with her friends and sister, and although the adults didn't like it, she was never punished for it.

After she got seperated from her family, only left with her sister, she quickly matured as now she had to fend for herself. When her sister and her new companion, a young wolf named Pikatti, were shot as well, she became quiet and rarely spoke.   She stayed like that until she met Serey and got a little more sociable, but she still doesn't like being around others much.

Because she has suffered so many losses, she doesn't like hanging her heart on something, but loves the persons who make it inside her heart very deeply.

She is very independent and can even defend herself from smaller predators. Malia is also a cunning doe and has learnt how to get out of tricky situations, as she had to because she was alone most of her life.

Likes:       being alone, not having to talk, silence, peace, evenings, sunset and sunset, having someone she can trust, dew, grazing, cool creeks, The Silver herd, her mate and fawns

Dislikes:   man, death, much talking, squirrels and rabbits (too noisy), winter, being around many deer, hanging her heart on something, when bucks try to take her

Fear:      losing her loved ones

Voice (as an adult):         Hannah Gordon

History:      Malia was born into a herd very distant from Bambi's forest. Her parents were very high-ranked, right under the leader of the herd. She was a sociable fawn and had many friends she played with every day, as well as with her sister. Her mother was a loving one, although she often left the fawns alone.

But her happy live was to change when she was only half a year old. She did already eat grass and other plants by that time and didn't drink milk anymore. One summer day, Man arrived in the valley where she used to live and began to shoot at the deer, as well as cutting down the trees.

The herd scattered and the deer fled. In this chaos, Malia and her sister lost their parents and their other herd members. They later returned to where they herd used to graze, but all they saw of their friends were their carcases which were carried away by Man. They didn't see their parents, so for all they knew, it's possible they're still alive. They didn't believe so, though.

The older sister, who was one and a half year old by that time, suggested to move away on their own. Malia agreed with a trembling voice. Both does cried when they ran off.

They wandered for some time in search of a new herd. But one day, Malia should lose the last loved one she had left.

The sisters were grazing on a clearing when suddenly, the older sister heard something. She took in the air and winced when she realized that Man was close to them. She urged Malia to run and so they did, but was hit by a bullet while she fled.

Back in the thicket, she collapsed. Malia tried to make her get up, but her sister just told her that she couldn't and that she should leave before Man came to get her. Malia's tries to hold back tears were in vain, and when she heard man's voice, she ran, not once looking back.

She wandered on her own for a few weeks, scared of anything and hardly letting any animal get close to her. She was confused, she was in grief and all she wanted was to be alone. She had no family left, her friends were most likely dead. Her heart was broken.

But in the next summer, she met a young wolf, a female, around her age. She was grazing on the borders of a meadow when she noticed two glooming eyes in the shadows of the three. She ran and the wolf jumped out. All attempts to flee and fight were in vain, though. But when the carnivore cowered over the doe, she couldn't kill her. She felt some kind of symphathy for the fawn, for they were both alone, both had lost their families due to Man. She let go of the deer, who smiled thankfully, but still shaking. The wolf told her that her name was Pikatti (meaning: companion).

An odd friendship formed between these two, and they stayed together for several months. Like Tupilek and the mountain lion, they offered each other protection and company. That was very nice when winter arrived because they could keep each other warm.

But luck wasn't wasn't on the two friend's side. In the winter, Pikatti was shot by Man. Malia couldn't believe she had to suffer this again. More heartbroken than ever, she ran away when Man came close. She didn't know that Pikatti had survived due to the kindness of the hunter, who had actually aimed for the doe. He gave the carnivore to someone who nursed her back to health and let her go after she was okay again.

Now, Malia was determinded to stay alone and not to love ever again. She always ran away when a stag tried to make her part of his harem, for she was fast and could fight fairly well considering she was a doe.

Around the time when summer turned into fall, her life changed. She was grazing by a creek, now a full grown and very pretty doe, when a single buck approached her.

The buck introduced himself as Serey, and he appearently was a loner, just like her. She didn't know why, but there was something about that buck she liked. Probably it was the fact that after she had told him her name, he didn't insist on talking with her. He just nodded and then, he began to drink and graze.

They stayed together the entire day and when Malia asked him, Serey told her that he had escaped from his herd. She couldn't understand that. He seemed to have had a loving family and a high position. All she wanted was her family to come back.

When she wanted to leave, he was startled and asked her to stay with him, for he was starving for someone to be with him. She wouldn't even have to talk, he just didn't want to be alone.

Malia didn't know if it was pity or actually him, but she stayed. And not only that day, but each that did follow. And the more they got to know each other, the more she grew attached to him. After some weeks, she realized that she actually was in love  with the buck. She was frightened she could lose him too, but it was far to late to stop her feelings for him. So when he asked her to be his mate, she accepted.

One month after she had come into season, she was sure she was carrying a fawn. And oddly enough, she was actually quite happy about it.

In search for a herd where they could raise their fawn, they encountered the most terryfying thing any deer could meet aside from man - wolves. A whole pack of them. The couple ran away, but the wolves were quick and caught up to them more and more.

To save his mate and unborn fawn, Serey distracted them so Malia could flee. So she did, and later, they met up again. But she was shocked; he was so weak he could barely stand. He collapsed, and she laid down beside him to keep him warm. She prayed he would make it.

But unfortunately, one wolf had been able to track him down. Malia saw its figure in the shadows. She wanted to make Serey get up, but he was too weak. The wolf attacked and...

...stopped.

In a heartbeat the wolf-lady had realized that the doe was Malia. Her friend had grown, but she was still the same. Serey was confused, but Malia, who had recognized the carnivore, told him it was her old friend Pikatti, who had grown up herself.

Both females were happy to meet again, but Pikatti told them they had to leave, the pack would soon find them, and with some effort, Serey stood. Pikatti showed them the way to the closest herd, which was the Silver herd. The leader Malvon allowed the couple to stay, since he couldn't send an injured deer away.

She was very happy that Serey's injuries slowly healed, and got along great with some herd members. She and Serey immeadiately accepted when Malvon asked them to stay.

In spring, she had her first fawn, Lyra
