Description

Detail Nitti

General

Name: Nitti
Breed: ¼ Alaskan Tundra Wolf & ¾ Siberian Husky
Sex: Female
Birth: 1926 in Nome, Alaska
Pack: Alsoome
Rank: Pup

Characteristics

Personality: Friendly, driven and a team player. Nitti is known to be the type of person to follow all the rules and to never break them. She is also known to be very naive when meeting new people, and she exhibits quite a large amount of trust around strangers, mostly because she enjoys the company of all beings (so long as they are nice to her). Nitti does inherit he father's attitude of finishing something you start, and her mother's loyalty (for her boy). However, Nitti is rather quite (despite the fact that she loves being social) and has a very soft voice. Nitti is also the type of person who's bark is worse than their bite, especially when she has something to say she isn't afraid to speak up. Nitti is no pushover to strangers, but to her friends she can be somewhat of a pushover.
Likes: The pack, her family, Nome, Dreamer (her closest friend), and pretty much anyone she meets who is nice to her.
Dislikes: Elk, moose and caribou (mostly because they can all easily kill her). the war among all of the wolf packs, Lilly, and those who try to take advantage of her.
Loves: John (her boy), Dingo, and Everet
Hates: John's grandfather and guns
Talents/ Abilities: Nitti is very small, but very fast, which makes her a great hunter for small game such as fawns, hares, and fish.
Weaknesses: Not a very good howler, and she's the smallest person in the pack due to being mostly husky thus her small size makes her endurance in battle not that great. Her size also gives her a big handicap on hunting big game (like elk, moose, and caribou).
Dreams: Besides desperately wanting to be reunited with John, she has pondered being the alpha instead of Lilly, but Nitti also wants to explore the world (which would mean leaving the pack and not coming back)
Fears: Terribly afraid of being alone (but grows out of it as she ages)

History

Nitti was born in a small shed with five other siblings, four of them were red just like Nitti and one was brown like their father. Nitti’s mother, Jenna was owned by a little girl named Rosie. It was Rosie who named the puppies. There was Kodiak, Saba, Dingo, Meekah, and of course Aleu. From the start, Nitti was a pack animal, she always wanted to be near her siblings, and never left her siblings’ sides (especially Dingo, who found it particularly annoying after a while). Although Nitti wasn’t annoying to her siblings, they found her bothersome when she always asked people to go somewhere with her. They’d often ask her, “Why can’t you go alone?”  She had an answer, but she never said it out loud. Truth was, she was scared to be alone

Adoption day came along and Nitti was picked up by an old man and his grandson. They took Nitti home, and Nitti was scared of being away from her family, but she was pretty calm around her boy (whose name was John). On the first night being with her boy, Nitti was put in a basket in the kitchen in the dark. Nitti was absolutely terrified. For one, she was dark and cold, but for another important reason she was very lonely. Nitti cried the entire night until dawn came and the grandfather came into the kitchen to make coffee. He completely ignored Nitti as she scrambled to her feet to go greet him. Then John came in to the room and fell to his knees with a smile. Nitti came sprinting to him and began to lick her boy out of companionship. The grandfather yelled at John, and John stood up. The Grandfather scolded John for petting Nitti, and told John that Nitti needs to be trained first, and that discipline is key especially since Nitti is part wolf.

So the days wore on, and whenever Grandfather wasn’t looking, John would spoil Nitti. Eventually one day when Nitti was about nine months the grandfather caught John giving part of his dinner to Nitti, and the grandfather hit John. Nitti came to John’s defense and bit the Grandfather’s ankle. Nitti earned the night out on the porch, which she spent alone and depressed. By the next morning Nitti had almost frozen to death, she scratched at the door as she heard creaks from inside. John let Nitti into the house, and gave her some food. Then another figure appeared from the bedroom. The grandfather yelled at John to put Nitti back outside. Nitti cowered behind John as the grandfather limped over to a cabinet and pulled out a rifle. The grandfather yelled at John to step aside, but John didn’t move. The grandfather pulled Nitti outside with the gun in his other hand. He pointed the gun at Nitti and John came outside begging his grandfather to stop. The grandfather hit John and shoved him to the ground and aimed the gun at Nitti. John shoved his grandfather, and the first shot went towards the sky. The shot startled Nitti, causing her to realize that guns aren’t a good thing. John screamed at Nitti to run. Confused and scared, Nitti approached John, but John screamed at Nitti, something he had never done before. Nitti whimpered and ran away. Nitti ran to the beach, unsure of where else to go.

Nitti was so panicked and scared she didn’t notice that she ran straight into her sister Aleu. They tumbled into the water then Luk pulled the two pups out of the water and dragged them onto the beach. Nitti was wide eyed with fear until she recognized Aleu, then she calmed down. They went to Balto’s boat and later that night while Aleu was out looking for some food Nitti told her father what happened. Balto was forced to explain to Nitti that the reason why the grandfather didn’t want Nitti in their household was because he was scared that the wolf inside Nitti might turn on John. Nitti accepted it, and promised not to raise the subject with Aleu. The next day, Nitti went to John’s school and waited for him until school ended. When it ended, John found Nitti outside and they played with each other in the woods. They stopped and John told Nitti that she can’t be his dog anymore. John then took Nitti’s collar off and gave her a big hug before walking away. Nitti tried to follow him, but John turned around and told her to stay. Nitti stayed where she was in the woods for days. She didn’t move for food or water, or even when it snowed at night.

Nitti drifted off and was awoken by another canine that was sniffing her almost limp body. Nitti opened her eyes and stilled as she felt the other being sense her awaken. The other canine ran off when Nitti rolled over. Nitti scented the air as the snow fell softly around her. She sneezed when a flake landed on her nose. Nitti heard a chuckle form the bushes and turned her head to see a different dog appear. His fur was thick and brown, almost the same shade as her father’s. The dog was old, with a curled brown tail and shaggy fur.

“Your first winter I presume?” The dog had an aged masculine voice.

Nitti nodded her head, “Mhm.” She looked around at the forest, it was dark, but the snow lit up the forest. She had never been in the forest except for now. The wind blew up more powder, making Nitti squint as she looked at the older male.

“Are you lost?” He asked.

“No. I don’t think so.”

“Do you need help to find your way home?” The older dog asked Nitti as she made to stand.

“No, my boy will come for me any minute now.” Nitti didn’t look at him.

“You’ve been here for days.” The dog bent his head down so it was level with Nitti’s, “He’s not coming back for you.”

Nitti whimpered, “B-but he loves me.”

“He's got a backwards way of showing it.” The old dog remarks, "Better get going before you die of exposure." The dog nudged Nitti to her paws. She followed him silently deeper into the forest; they stopped when they came to a clearing full of wolves.

“This is the Alsoome Pack, home of the arrow wolves.” The dog walked on, and Nitti hesitated before following deeper into the clearing. She followed him as he walked up to a pale grey wolf. He whispered in her ear before she replied something to him. The dog turned to Nitti and told her he will be back in a moment.

Nitti sat in quite outside while the two canines were talking in the den. A grey wolf with a black muzzle and back approached Nitti and snarled at Nitti, causing her to jump back in fear. The female wolf mocked, “What a cowardly dog!”

Nitti turned to look at the wolf, she had green eyes that were stunning, but right now Nitti was conflicted between fear and anger. She opted to be civil out of fear, "I'm sorry."

The wolf rolled her eyes and laughed over her shoulder, “Mutts like you are weak.” The wolf then walked into the den. She passed the dog that had found Nitti in the woods. She snorted her disapproval of him as they passed eachother, but he ignored her.

“I see you’ve met Lilly.” He remarked, not bothering to turn his head in the direction of which the female wolf had gone. He shook his head and motioned for Nitti to follow him. “I spoke with the alpha. She is inclined to allow you to stay with us and welcome you into our pack as a full and official member. We can give you shelter, warmth, food, water, and” The husky paused and looked into Nitti’s eyes, “comfort.”

Nitti was puzzled but listened as the grey nosed dog went on, “However, we have certain rules.”

“What kind of rules?” Nitti asked, somewhat scared to even ask the question.

“Wolves don’t have contact with humans. Even though you are dog, if you are a part of our pack you cannot lead two different lives of being feral and tame. It is either one or the other.”

“Oh.” Sadness weighed Nitti’s gentle heart down to the very bottom of her stomach. The thought of her boy leaving her was so upsetting.

The husky met up with a brown wolf that had similar looks as him however the new canine was fluffier and younger than the old dog. The old gruff dog spoke as he spotted the younger one, “Ah, Kyrik my boy, I want you to meet, uh…”

“Nitti.” She supplied for the old dog.

“Nitti.” The old dog repeated, letting the sound of the name sink into his thoughts.

Nitti looked at the younger brown canine. His coloring matched his father, with the exception of white markings. Kyrik was an adult, probably the same age as Nitti’s dad if she had to guess. Kyrik also had this look about him that wasn’t dog or wolf. Kyrik looked Nitti over as well.

Kyrik, I would like for you to keep an eye out for Nitti.” The old dog told the younger one.

“I’m no pup sitter dad.” Kyrik groaned.

“Oh Ky, when will you learn. Nitti and Dreamer are roughly the same age, it makes them good playmates. It also give you a reason to see Circe.”

Kyrik blushed awkwardly and gently snarled, “Dad!”

Nitti giggled at the exchange between the two. The conversation was interrupted by a new voice, “Everet!”

The old husky turned around in response. A white wolf appeared with golden eyes and a smile, “Everet, my dear it’s getting late. It’s time we be going to bed.”

Everet let out a soft chuckle, “Aniu, the moon isn’t even half up yet.”

Aniu spotted Nitti’s red fur and asked, “Who is that?”

“This is Nitti.” Everet introduced, “She will be staying here.”

Aniu smiled and came closer to greet Nitti, “It is nice to meet you.”

The wind picked up again, and Nitti shivered. Aniu scolded Everet, “If you aren’t going to bed then she is.”

Nitti yawned in relief and followed Aniu to the den. When Nitti entered the den she scented a dozen different wolves. Nitti was overwhelmed and unsure where to go. Aniu nudged Nitti to follow her as Aniu would her was to a small part of the den where the old wolf curled up with Nitti.

Wild Wind: No I didn't, it was rendered from Kodi, but I made a lot of modifications to it to fit Nitti's correct build type.
Somes: Yeah, I changed my mind about fluffy neck fur. I dunno why I constantly make double letter names, they just sound good for dogs I guess xD

Meh.
Dude, I think I'm dreaming. You got a must see character *flails*
I just, I can't. EEP.
I'm so proud of you.
And her design is gorgeous, I love how you gave her a "spiky"/fluffy mane (especially after how you said you thought it was weird xD) and I love her short legs, it makes her seem like a husky (which I assume you were aiming for, especially with the 3/4 dog in her).
And lastly the name, which was used as a popular name for Balto's sister. I'm so happy that the name is used for a different character related to him. It also really gives her a nice ring (but i also have a working theory that you like your double middle letter names, ex. Jimmy, Lilly, Illia...)
I can't stress it enough. I adore her, and I defiantly plan to doodle her sometime soon.

Thanks Crona. I was aiming for a fluffy and short husky with minor wolfish features to make her pretty accurate for her breed.
