"I suppose it is quite confusing," agreed Maliha. "And none of us knew about the power of the Roar, so even us Pridelanders don't know everything!"

Taji lead the group safely back to Pride Rock. As he reached the top, he saw Rakhi. He went up to her and nuzzled her."I've just discovered something that may change this Pride, but first I must speak with the Great Kings of the Past."
"That's absolutely fine," replied Rakhi. "Would you like to take Zalira and Koman with you? They've been wanting to spend some time with you for a while now."
"Of course they can come. I think this news will affect them too."
"Great, I'll go and get them."
Zalira came running out of Pride Rock with Koman following closely behind her. "Yay! Let's go!"
Taji lead them away from Pride Rock to a quiet place he knew, just on the top of a hill. There he sat down with Zalira and Koman beside him, gazing at the sky.
"Oh Great Kings of the Past, please come and speak to me."
The sky clouded over and Mufasa appeared in the sky. "Hello, young Taji. I hear that this is about the Lion Guard."
"Mufasa, it is indeed. I want to know if I should create a new guard in this new era of the Pridelands. I want to know why it didn't appear in my father's generation and what I should do."
"The Guard didn't appear in your father's generation because of the anger and the jealousy within the hearts of Jabari and Zuberi. They would've destroyed each other and the Pridelands too, which couldn't be allowed because the Guard is meant to protect the Pridelands. It was a lesson we all learnt when Scar had the Roar and he used it to destroy his own Lion Guard because they refused to help him destroy me. We couldn't risk that happening again.
I think a new Lion Guard will benefit the Pridelands greatly. I have a horrible feeling that something is going to happen, and soon. I think it is wise for you to be prepared for any eventualities. I ask you now, do you feel your children can handle what is coming."
Taji looked down at his cubs, huddled beside his paws. "Yes, I believe they can. They are strong and almost teenagers. They can be trained by Moto and Kensai and I know they will make a sensible decision as to who will be members of their team."
"Father," said Zalira, "I don't think I can do it. I can't be a protector of the Pridelands. I'm scared."
"I'm not scared," said Koman. "I will be in the Lion Guard."
"In which case, young Koman, you will have the Roar of the Elders. It is up to you to select the new Lion Guard. You are the fiercest. You must pick the bravest, fastest, strongest and keenest of sight to make up the rest of your team. They can be who you like, as we have realised that Kion made a good decision with his team. If ever you feel unsure, just come and talk to any one of us in the sky."
"I won't let you down, Mufasa."
"I know you won't. Until the Pridelands end."
Taji watched until Mufasa faded from view. "Koman, you must now go and find the other members of your Lion Guard."
Koman sped off back to Pride Rock. "I won't let you down, father!"
Taji stayed there with Zalira alone. "That was a very wise decision, Zalira. Don't feel weak because of it."
"I just didn't want to let you down."
"You would never let me down," Taji replied, "but I respect your decision, and that makes you future Queen."
"Queen? But..."
"You were twins, so we were going to let you rule together, but with Koman the leader of the Lion Guard, you will become Queen of the Pridelands."
"Really?"
"Really. Come on, let's see you your brother has told already."

Up at Pride Rock, Koman started rushing around, finding all the cubs and teenagers on Pride Rock. "Listen," he said to them all. "I am the new leader of the Lion Guard and I must select my teammates. However, I think we need to search in the Pridelands as well for any other animals, or even some rogues, that could be part of the team to protect the Pridelands. Will you help me? Also, you could show off your own skills at the same time and I might even pick you, does that sound fair?"

Asail looked from side to side looking for Moto she wanted to apologize for the night before spotting Moto she hurried over to him "Moto !!!" she called out to him

Moto, having found no one to patrol with, had decided to sit in and clean himself up. After last night, his fur had become ruffled. Once he finished, he noticed Koman going around and talking about choosing some animals. Curious, he watched from afar, his head tilted slightly to the side as he listened. When he heard his name, he pricked his ears, then turned to see Asali. "Oh, Asali," he said, somewhat surprised.

Asail smiled at him slightly as she laid down next to him her tail gently swishing as she did "I've been looking for you all morning" she said

He cocked an eyebrow at her. "Really?" he asked, slightly surprised. He flicked his tail, then curled it around his paws. He looked off towards where Koman and the other cubs were, pricking his ears.

"I wanted to apologize" Asail said looking over at Moto "if I put you off in anyway I'm sorry it wasn't my intention" she added the look on her face looked as if she wanted to say something else but she kept quite

He turned to look at her. It seemed as though she wanted to say more, but he didn't push her to. "It's fine, I understand," he replied. He rolled his shoulders, looking off into the distance. "Besides, there's no need to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong," he added

"There was actually something else I wanted to ask you" she said sighing slightly "I was talking to winda and she gave me a few days off from the hunt and I was wondering if you wanted to go back to that oasis we found ?" she asked hopefully

He looked over to her, raising his eyebrows. "Asali, I would love to but you know we have jobs to do. The borders can't guard themselves," he replied, giving his tail a small flick. He wasn't trying to be rude, but he didn't want to go galavanting while their pride could be under attack. After all, didn't Koman say something about danger approaching Priderock?

"I understand let me know if you change your mind" Asail said in complete understanding looking away from him and out to the Savannah

He gave a small nod. "Have you heard what Koman is saying?" he asked, turning to her. He had seemed really excited about this 'Lion Guard' he kept going on about, but Moto wasn't sure what he was talking about.

"Oh you mean the lion guard ?" Asail said turning her attention back to him "I've heard it mentioned once or twice but I don't know what it is"

"Hm. I don't know much about it either," he replied. "Perhaps it is a game?" he suggested. Growing up without other cubs, or lions for that matter, he wasn't familiar with traditional games, and he thought they might've changed since he was young. Perhaps it was just a game.
