Personality: Bold, is not afraid to do what she needs to in order to do what she feels is right. However, this often leads her to judge very quickly without getting answers. She has a certain bias for lions/lionesses, and feels they're superior to other beings of cats, therefore putting her at odds with Lightning, one of the many reasons they do not get along. Ashanti takes most things seriously, and often cannot take a joke, nor can she make a joke herself. Which is why she loves Hasani - he is able to contrast well with her.

History: Ashanti grew up without a mother in her life - her mother had passed on from disease, and she and her father were fortunate enough to survive it. Her father went on to take over another pride, took up another mate, and produced more cubs, and poor Ashanti was left alone. Her father did not look after her, and the other lionesses rejected her because she was not of relation to them. As a result, Ashanti toughened up, grew more serious and cynical, and chose to stand up for herself. In fact, this revelation of hers ended up with her getting into an argument with her father's favorite female, resulting in her being exiled from the pride. Fortunate for her, as they were soon run down by another pride wishing to take over.

Ashanti ended up bumping into Mawusi, and the two partnered up for a short time. Ashanti ended up pregnant by Mawusi, but she did not realize until afterwards after she had chased him off after a huge fight between them. She did try to actively seek him out, but has never found him yet.

With her belly growing big, Ashanti was desperate to find some form of cover for protection before she gave birth. She ended up encountering Lightning and her siblings Blitz and Speed while they were hunting, and they fought. Ashanti was easily overpowered, despite her outsizing all of them, and she was chased away.

Ashanti was soon nearing labor when she encountered Lightning a second time, this time with Hasani as company. Without thinking, Ashanti threw herself between Hasani and Lightning, believing that Lightning was conning Hasani into a deal he would not be able to escape. The true nature of Lightning's intent for Hasani was revealed, and the dark cheetah scampered off, leaving a bewildered Ashanti and a heartbroken Hasani behind.

Ashanti decided to try and reach out to Hasani, for she needed to survive giving birth to her cub, and needed the companionship. Unable to pass up her offer, Hasani stayed with her until she gave birth to her cub, whom she named Kamau. In a short timeframe, Ashanti found herself taken with the handsome Hasani - he was gentle, patient, and kind, a little gullible, but he meant well. She didn't blame him for what transpired between him and Lightning, and she decided to confront him, and tell him that she could give him the love he so desired, if he were to return it.

Hasani was happy to comply, especially after the incident with Lightning, but even when Ashanti insisted they leave to start their own pride, he disagreed. His father had passed, and his sister Malaika ascended as leader, but the pride was starting to grow smaller with departures of some of their siblings, and he felt his place was there. Several times Hasani has asked for Ashanti to join their pride, but after her ordeal as a cub, Ashanti is a little hesitant to join, though she would do it for the sake of Kamau.
