Personality: A silent warrior, one who is more willing to observe what is around him quietly. Nonetheless, Kamau is a tactless warrior, often opting for the 'Leeroy Jenkins' approach of attack-now-plan-later. As he grows older, though, this approach lessens, and he begins to favor thinking out plans. Kamau is not the most sensitive lions, and needs to be bluntly told what's wrong instead of having to guess, which is why he appreciates Taka's and Zainabu's companies - they're not afraid to tell him what's on their mind. Can be a bit of a grouch, but can be very loyal to you if you give him a reason to be. His older self is such a far-cry from when he was a cub, back when he was shy and a bit of a crybaby.

History: Kamau was conceived during the brief period of time Ashanti and Mawusi traveled together, before a fight occurred between the two, and Ashanti chased Mawusi off. It was a little after Ashanti chased Lightning off, and took to Hasani's company that Kamau was born. With Hasani taking Ashanti as a mate, he also adopted Kamau, which made him ecstatic as he always wanted to raise a cub, even if Kamau was not his own. At first, Hasani thought that little Kamau would be as mischevious as he was when he was a cub.

Oh, he was very wrong. Kamau was very quiet since birth and incredibly shy that Hasani felt he took a little after his brother, Mchumba. Not deterred from having a relationship with him, Hasani took him and Ashanti (after much convincing) to his family pride, and introduced them there. It took awhile for both Ashanti and Kamau to assimilate into the pride, but they managed to adjust in time. Kamau found that, out of all of his relatives who still remained within the pride, he liked his 'aunt' Nubia's companionship the most, mainly because she was as quiet as he was. He also liked his Uncle Mchumba for the same reason.

Living within the confines of his adopted father's pride provided an easy-going life for Kamau. And that all ended up disappearing fairly quickly. During an attack by a group of cheetahs, Nubia and Kamau were separated from the rest of the pride. Determined to keep her 'nephew' alive, Nubia took Kamau far away, getting pregnant along the way. They eventually found safety in a small lion pride, where Nubia was forced to do grunt work in order to keep Kamau and her daughter, Naadia, alive. Kamau absolutely hated living in the small pride - the others would abuse him whenever they could. Kamau often voiced his protests to Nubia, but there was little she could do for him.

As soon as he was old enough, Kamau left his aunt behind to live his own life. He did well for himself as a loner before taking over a small pride. Kamau took the former leader's only daughter, Safi, as his mate, and with her had their son, Keto. However, Kamau's reign was short-lived, as he was quickly defeated by an older and much stronger rogue. Kamau left, but not by himself. Safi gave him Keto to take care of, as she did not want their son to be murdered by the new leader. So Kamau fled into the night with Keto.

In time, Kamau crossed paths with two lionesses, which proved to change his life. He met Taka, daughter of Scar, and Zainabu, granddaughter of Judas, while walking along the plains, and he quickly joined them. He soon found out that they lived as equals rather than have one leader in charge. He didn't understand their system of thought, but let it slide. He was also glad to have a lioness's help when it concerned raising Keto, as he had no idea how to go about raising his son. Thankfully Zainabu, who fell in love with Keto upon sight, quickly took the young cub underneath her wing.

This was how Kamau's crush on Zainabu started. Though initially the two got on one another's nerves, Kamau eventually saw the kind of lioness Zainabu was - she was caring and very motherly, an excellent parent for Keto. Kamau began to wonder how such a motherly lioness could not already have her own cubs, so he asked her about it one night. Zainabu told him that that was her dream, but she was attacked by a hyena as a cub, and it gourged her. Though she lived, the incident made her body more fragile, so if she were to give birth, she would surely end up dead for it.

Touched, Kamau slowly became a knight-in-shining-armor for Zainabu, who also began to warm up to him for that.
