Personality: Naive, and a hopeless romantic, Zainabu lives in her own world where everything is peachy and great. She refuses to see reality for what it is in favor of her fantasies. Though she can be very ditzy and is sometimes not the brightest bulb of the bunch, Zainabu would prefer you not count her out because she is willing to learn. Her habit of not thinking things through has gotten her into trouble a lot. Zainabu is in love with love, and as a cub she could not wait to meet her 'prince charming'. But after her accident, the fantasy of finding someone to love has faded from her mind.

History: Though she was accepted into Judas's pride after the Zuri incident and found a genuine closeness with Jiro, it took Nyako a long time to want to act on her feelings. She had been in love with Kayode, and his unexpected murder shocked her into fearing being close with Jiro in case he, too, unexpectedly was killed. Despite her fears, she found much comfort in him, and he provided her attention when she needed it. She eventually came around and fell in love with him. Together they produced a daughter, whom they named Zainabu.

At the time, Judas's pride was starting to tear itself apart - Enu was no longer on speaking terms with either Judas or Baako, and Ari had departed from the pride for her own reasons. Despite the drama emerging from within, Zainabu continued to be very happy go-lucky, especially when she found that there were more cubs on the way. Nyako, paranoid in her fear from what Zuri left behind, was very overprotective of her daughter, and never let her out of her sight. Jiro was more leninent to what Zainabu did because he trusted his father and the other lionesses would keep a good eye on her.

One day, though, Zainabu managed to escape the tight confines of the pride, and went exploring for a bit. She bumped into a wild hyena, who gourged her stomach. Baako had been nearby when the incident occured, and chased off the hyena before quickly taking Zainabu back to the pride. Her stomach had been torn terribly, and most thought she wouldn't make it through the night. Miraculously, as if Kayode had decided his family did not need more suffering for a long time, Zainabu began to recover slowly from her wound. But because of where the bite was inflicted, it made it so that it would be difficult for Zainabu to bear any cubs when she got older. She was not infertile, but bearing cubs, and then giving birth to them would cause her severe internal damage, and she would most likely die.

This crushed Zainabu's dreams of wanting to have a big family. She continued to grow up in her grandfather's pride with her parents and extended family, but Zainabu's love with love had drastically faded over time. That all changed when her pride stumbled upon the lion Arya. Ayodele and Erevu chased him off, but Zainabu snuck away to find him, and, when she discovered Arya, it was as if they were long-lost lovers. Arya found her to be beautiful, and wanted to stay by her at all times. However, Zainabu knew her uncles would not be so keen on letting a rogue male into their pride, but she did not want to leave the pride she grew up in, especially when it came to her parents. She explained this (as well as the fact that she could not bear cubs) to Arya, and even though he's saddened by the fact that he would get involved with this lioness, knowing fully well that they could not have cubs together, he loves her so much where it's not a problem for him. They continue to see each other everyday in secret.
