Personality: A serious and composed character, with a brave and courageous streak in her. She would not hesitant to stand up against a bigger foe. However, Adanna is not very open-minded, and hates anything affecting her level of comfort or changing her routine. Adanna holds grudges for a long time, and is incredibly stubborn and highstrung (moreso than her mother). Never wants to disappoint, and if she feels she does then Adanna constantly kicks herself for that level of failure.

History: Before her birth, Simba and Nala stepped down from the throne and allowed Kiara and Kovu to rule the Pridelands. Not too long after, Adanna was born and she was the destined queen after Kiara. When she was young, Kiara tried to form a solid mother-daughter bond with her, but her duties as the current queen left Kiara being gone most of the time to try and prevent another Outland-incident. So Kovu was Adanna's guardian, and during that period she grew most close to her father, and she still has a strong bond with him.

Her first hunt was a disaster that led to the premature death of one of the pride lions. Wracked with guilt, Adanna ran away and did not come home for several days, but when she did, she vowed to be more courageous in order to prevent another incident like that from happening.

Simba, deciding to want to follow his parents' example of betrothal, threw the idea to have Adanna be betrothed to Azazel, an unrelated male cub who Kiara nursed when he was first brought into the pride as a newborn. Kiara was ecstastic, Kovu unsure, but he grew to support the idea. Neither Adanna nor Azazel liked this idea, but they were only cubs, so that was expected. When they reached adolescence, they both became ecstatic of the idea of their eventual marriage, but they ended up falling out of love when they became adults. Azazel left the Pridelands, while Adanna feels guilty that she couldn't please the wishes of her grandparents.

However, tragedy struck. During one of Kiara's and Kovu's yearly travels, Kiara returned and sadly informed everyone that Kovu had died to save her. Adanna was distraught. Eventually Adanna recovered from the loss, but never really got over it. However, this made her realize that she now has her mother in her life, and to make up for the lost time, Adanna developed a close bond with her mother.

Soon, though, this new mother-daughter bond was tested when a male lion named Defir was permitted to live in the pride after being found starving. At first Adanna thought little of Defir, but when he recovered and began courting her mother, Adanna became nervous. However, Kiara initially showed little interest in him so Adanna felt reassured that her mother was keeping faithful to her father. It was not so after a while that Kiara started to become close to Defir, and before long they announced their love for each other. Adanna was shocked by this new development, and refused to accept Defir as her new stepfather.

It got worse. Kiara gave birth to Adanna's half-brother, Abel, and that was the last straw for Adanna, who felt as though she was being replaced. She refused to attend Abel's naming ceremony, even after being called selfish by Nala, and afterward departed the Pridelands. She had no intent of going back, traveling to find a place to call her own. She did, alongside the lion named Gunju, whom got on the wrong side of her. They were like oil and water to one another, but stayed by one another in order to survive.

Adanna traveled with Gunju for about four years, sometimes thinking of the Pridelands, and wondering if she should return. Her hatred of Defir and Abel subsided, and she thought about how Kiara must've felt about her leaving. She and Gunju also became mates - their relationship remained turbulent, but this time it was tubulent with a side of affection from one another. It took them both by surprise.

Adanna decided she would return to the Pridelands, but when she returned home, she found it not like how it was when she left. Her mother was dead, and her half-brother the new King, and newly insane. He banished her, Simba, and Nala from their lands in a fit of rage. Adanna, unsure of how she felt about Abel being in charge, decided that she would keep an eye on him, and got help from her cubhood friends Sanaa and Duka, who decided to remain in the pride.
