Personality: Submissive to Mohatu, Asabi listens to only him and no one else. She is very cautious and unfriendly towards other females, especially those nursing because of the terrible life she lived with her mother. Asabi is very reserved, except when she is in company of Mohatu since he is the only one who manages to bring out a softer side to her. While Asabi is submissive to Mohatu, she is very aggressive to Selfish and the two have gotten into many fights over the years.

History: Joe was a lion who always wanted to be King, but since he was too weak to unsurp that power from another lion, he decided that the only way he could be strong was to have heirs and live off of their successful lives. Therefore when he bumped into Gbemisola, a lioness who made herself out to be sweet but was really anything but, he made a big deal that he was a King. This tempted Gbemisola, and the two mated and only after did she realize he played her, and she pushed him away, wanting nothing to do with him. Joe accepted leave, promising he would return to collect their cubs.

Gbemisola had three cubs, but the only one she had eyes for was Asabi, having always wanted a daughter. So when Joe returned to collect his cubs, Gbemisola happily gave him Selfish (then named Emeka) and Mohatu while keeping Asabi for herself. Under her mother's paw Asabi lived a very miserable life, having to act according to how her mother saw fit, and when she did something she wasn't supposed to she was punished for it. One mishap led to a fight between mother and daughter, which Gbemisola brought a quick end to by scratching Asabi's eye. Though her eye was left in tact, she has a hard time seeing out of it.

The final straw for Gbemisola was when she found out Asabi was infertile. As soon as she discovered this she left Asabi for dead, believing her daughter was useless if she could not reproduce. Asabi was an adult at the time, so she wasn't too helpless on her own. She fortunately found Mohatu who remembered her and quickly coaxed her to join his pride. Though she was very reserved when it came to him, Mohatu eventually won Asabi's trust, and she became an adviser for him, a position one level lower than lead lioness, which Mohatu's mate Thema took. Asabi did not make trouble with Thema, keeping away from her yet admiring her undying love for her brother. However she did not stick up for Thema when there was teasing going on about her behind her back.

Emeka, now proclaiming himself as The Selfish Lion, made trouble for Mohatu and his family as petty revenge for his father's disapproval of him and favoritism towards his younger brother. Asabi and Selfish bumped into each other, and it was hatred at first sight. The two often quarreled and fought. Selfish also had a friend in his league - a large lion by the name of Tanglemane. One look at Asabi and he was in love, but she felt nothing but contempt for him since she knew he worked with Selfish.

Asabi was killed by Selfish after a particular fight got out of hand. That was the last straw for Mohatu, and he chased his brother away forever.
