Personality: Judas is a loner at heart. He doesn't like to relate himself to anyone. He also has a kind of inferior complex brought on by his parents' high expectations for him to take after Mufasa. Judas is sweet to his females, but will not tolerate insolence. He tries to be a good leader and tries to make the best choices, not only for himself but for his family. He carries a lot of baggage on his shoulders that he prefers to keep to himself about. He tries not to play favorites, nor expect as much from his cubs as a result of the pressure he felt from his own parents.

His Relationships:

Mufasa & Sarabi: Judas truly loves his parents, but was frustrated by them when he was younger, as he felt that they weren't giving him a chance to come into his own - he had to be a King, no matter what. He had to be like Mufasa, no matter what. The amount of pressure stacked against him made him frustrated by them, but as he grew up and got older, he became regretful that he never went back to the Pridelands to apologize before their deaths. The regret over his parents was later seen in him being distant to his daughter, Kesi.

His siblings: Judas had been unaware that he even had siblings until he returned to the Pridelands and met Simba. He never met any of his other siblings besides Simba, but has not expressed interest in doing so. They had their own lives, and he had his. However, he did end up having a good friendship with his younger brother once initial tensions between them subsided.

Chinter: Judas's cubhood friend - his only friend from when he was younger for that matter. At first he wanted nothing to do with her, but she was persistent in becoming his friend, and he eventually allowed it. They became good friends after getting into a spot of trouble that Sarabi had to save them from. Though the last time they maintained contact was when Chinter stayed in the bachelor lion pride with him for a while, Judas still thinks kindly of her now and again, and hopes she is doing well.

Ajani and the bachelor pride: These were the lions Judas grew up with when he ran away from the Pridelands. He was on decent terms with all the other lions, except Ajani, whom he did not care for at the start. The pair had clashed, with Judas emerging victorious. Eventually, a begrudging acceptance and tolerance for one another was formed, and they eventually respected one another. Through his experience with Ajani, Judas began to understand how to survive life beyond the comforts of his home.

His mates: Motivated by his past relationship with his parents, Judas did not want to favor one over the other. He loves each and every one of his mates dearly, and calls to depend on them for their equal strengths. He values each and every one of them, even if he might not open up to them as readily as he feels he should.

His cubs: Same with his attitude towards his mates, Judas equally loves each and every one of his cubs. He never wanted them to feel pressured by him, and to grow up expecting to be something that they didn't want to be. The only cub Judas ever had a problem with was Kesi, whom he was scared to be close to because she reminded him so much of Sarabi. This eventually disappears when he grows old enough (and wise enough) to let the past go, and to welcome Kesi into his life. However, after the conflict with Zuri, Judas has grown afraid and disappointed in his deceased daughter for traveling down the wrong path. In fact, his lack of having a favorite was the reason he did not have his future heir selected by the time of his death - he couldn't choose between his three sons - Ayodele, Jiro, and Erevu - who he wanted to succeed him.

History: Judas was the celebrated son of Mufasa and Sarabi. From the moment he was born, Judas was expected to live up to his father's reputation as king, even so much as maybe surpass it. When he was a year old, however, the pressure of being a future king got to him and Judas ran away from Pride Rock, feeling like a failure for being unable to be strong enough to take the throne. His parents were deeply depressed by his decision, so they tried again, resulting in the birth of Judas's younger siblings in attempts to find an heir to the throne. Judas was unaware of the existence of his younger siblings, until he met Simba later in life.

Judas joined a bachelor pride of lions, as he was still too young to try and find his own pride. This was how he met Ajani. Living with a bunch of lions his own age and older toughened Judas up, and by the time he left, he made sure to leave a legacy of his strength in the wake of his departure. He was five when he left. Eventually, Judas came across Ari's pride, where he challenged the older lion. The fight was very one sided, with Judas winning. Honoring the change in leadership, Ari and his mate, Quanna, had Judas promise to watch over their family, to which Judas agreed.

With his rule now established, Judas took two of Ari's daughters as his favorite females - Baako and Enu. The lionesses were not welcoming of Judas's place in the pride (in fact, he had a bad start in having a friendship with Sassia, who felt angered that he banished her cub, Sizwe, despite the customs that the former leader's cubs could not live while the current leader ruled. Even then, Judas was mildly generous to allow Sizwe to live). It was Baako who came to his side first, accepting that her father accepted his fate, and that Judas would lead their pride into prosperity. Enu and everyone else followed shortly afterwards.

It took a while for any cubs to be born from Judas. Between Baako, him, and Enu, their cubs kept on miscarriaging, until one was finally born between him and Enu, whom they named Kayode. Kayode's birth became the light for the pride, as the successful births of other cubs came shortly afterwards. Though he was initially awkward to slip into the role as father, Judas picked up on it quickly, and was determined to not be like his parents. He did not set high standards for his cubs, and loved them all, even though he had issues with Zuri and Kesi - Zuri, because of her constant bullying of the others, and Kesi because she reminded Judas of Sarabi, and he did not want to relive those memories.

Around this point, Judas meets Simba when his pride wanders into the Pridelands during a famine. He meets Simba's son, his nephew, Kopa, and was there when Kopa was mysteriously murdered behind the scenes. Judas established good connections with his brother, and Simba promised a full-term alliance between them for however long Judas wanted to keep it. Judas agreed, and he led his pride out of the Pridelands.

Then, Zuri went missing one day, not long after an encounter with the rogues Ikeena and Reno. Judas and Baako were crushed, but they both moved on, knowing that it wasn't unusual to lose a cub like this. Judas still struggled with trying to have a relationship with Kesi. A few years went by, and, with prodding from Enu, Judas decided to allow Kayode and his other son Jiro to leave the pride and form their own. He missed his sons since then, and when Zuri returned and told them all that she had killed Kayode, Judas was shocked. Ari killed Zuri, but the damage had been done. Judas couldn't handle the loss of his firstborn cub, his first successful born cub, and, after consoling the other lionesses, shut himself away from them for a bit. Kesi took this opportunity to try and bond with her father. Judas realized how short time was and, not wanting to lose Kesi without having built a father-daughter relationship with her, finally accepted her as a daughter.

Ari was the next to leave the pride. Judas, pained to see his daughter leave, was reluctantly against it, but understood that she no longer wanted to live in the pride when the memories of Kayode were too painful to remember. He allowed her to leave, but wanted her to promise him that she would visit him often once she found a pride of her own.

Though Judas was devastated by the loss of Kayode, he at least tried to make up to Lindiwe and Gwandoya, Kayode's littermates from a second litter. Enu, on the other hand, completely shut down, and was inconsolable of her loss. Judas gave her a shoulder to cry on, but he found he could not love her in the same way he did before. Eventually, Judas and Enu's relationship finally hit a stop when Enu began accusing Baako of teaching Zuri to become the lioness she eventually did. She also wanted Judas to demote Baako from her position as favorite female and kick her out of the pride. Judas said no, and instead he demoted Enu. Since then, he and Enu hardly spoke to one another.

Only a year after the loss of Kayode, more cubs were born into the pride, despite Judas growing older. He still maintained a good relationship with his cubs, but knew that this was going to be it - he was too old to continue being a father. Around this time, King Abel of the Pridelands rises to power, and threatens to destroy lion life as they knew it. Judas and his pride is one of many that participates in The Great War that follows.

Judas lives to the age of eighteen before he passes away. However, he was unable to decide on a successor in his place before he passed, and thus there was debate on whether it would be Ayodele or Erevu who would lead in his place. In the end, Ayodele continued Judas's legacy as leader of the pride he created.
