Personality: Very laid-back and understanding. If you could compare to anyone, she would be one of those embarrassing mothers who is not above getting into her cubs' businesses and offering them strange advice, however appropriate it might be. Her personality contrasts with Laguna's in that she is much more mature and relaxed than he is, despite how she too acted like that in her youth.

History: Chipo was born in a very prosperous pride, but life for her was uneventful. As she was young, she thirsted for adventure, and so left her pride in order to seek out this adventure she needed. She weaved in and out of fellow rogue prides, not finding the ambition she sought for, at least until she met an adult male named Laguna. He was very bouncy and cheerful, which contrasted with Chipo's own down-to-earth laidback nature. Despite their differences, they fell in love and had Ni and Leo.

One day Laguna had gone off to find something to eat. At first Chipo did not know that Laguna had bumped into Sarafina and mated with her. When he returned he said that he was chasing down an impala and it eluded him. Chipo accepted the lie, but began to notice her mate's diminishing affection towards her, as if he was always distracted. She got into a fight with him over it, and he accidentally let slip of what happened between him and Sarafina. Indignant that he not only lied to her, but was unfaithful to her, Chipo chased Laguna away from the family, and took to raising Ni and Leo by herself. It was hard, and some days she did want to bow out, to go and find Laguna, and take him back, but she could not forgive what he did.

Eventually Ni and Leo grew up, and Leo left the family to pursue his own way of life. Feeling sorry for his lonely mother, Ni stuck around, and the two journeyed for many days until they came across a lion pride. Ni challenged the prideleader and won the fight. He and Chipo were accepted readily into the pride, and Chipo was ecstatic for her son when he selected his favorite female, Isha.

Chipo loved Ikeena dearly, and often disapproved of Ni's parenting of his own son, but she still let him do his own thing. As she aged, Chipo began to long for Laguna, missing him dearly. To her surprise, he did find them, sorry for what he did, and wanting her and Ni to accept him back into their lives. Though hesitant, Chipo and Ni did allow Laguna back into their lives, and Chipo fell back in love with Laguna all over again.

Making up for his huge mistake, Laguna continued to be a devoted mate and lover to Chipo, even after her death at the age of eleven.
