Maybe you've already noticed it (why do I have to always start with that? lol), but there's a new section on the site : fan characters. (in the left menu)
You can now "officially" create a page for each of your own characters. The goal is to allow to link your characters with your fan creations (eg : if one of your characters appear in several of your fanfics, or even fanfics from other authors, these fanfics will be listed in the character page)

I have added the possibility to write gamebooks outside of the site, by using any text editor! This is simple : you only need to write your gamebook on Word or Notepad for example, respecting the required syntax, then send the file on the site. Your gamebook will be
immediately generated, and you only have to try it!

First of all, I apologize for not posting the "Weekly Features" not so weekly. So, to make it easier on all of us, I decided to make it bi-weekly (that is, posting a feature every two weeks).

Secondly, I'd like to remind everyone of a few fanart rules.
1. Only drawings that you made yourself, or are colored fanarts (with the owners permission and/or copyrights on them) are allowed in your fan art gallery.

I promised those four features last week, but wasn't able to sign on Friday or Saturday. So, my apologies. And here they are!

Our first feature is a fairly new artist (but not "too new") who has climbed their way quickly to 60 plus favorites. I am very pleased with watching this artist and looking at their work. Dear Balto Source Members,
    Due to he overwhelming amount of Fan-Images and Graphcs in the Fan-Arts/Images section we have been cleaning out some of the poor and unedited screen shots. We are well aware many members do not have photoshop or a editig program other then Paint. But that is no exuse for a bad graphic or edit. We will no longer be accepting poor or unedited fan-graphcis and images on the site. These are begging to literally spam up the gallery section. The contest section on the forums should have disappear this month, to let the section on the site be used instead.

I have changed my mind. As I didn't work enough on the current contest section to entirely replace the forum-based one, and also because many of you requested it, I will re-open the forum section. (this means that you can post new topics) If there are duplicates, then too bad. I will try to think of ways to reorganize this better later.

It's a bit old but, I should inform you, scince that's were Balto was created.

First of all, I would like to inform you that the moderators are discussing fan image "renders." The current discussion is whether or not they should be allowed. The following is now the status for "renders" (what is not allowed):
-Unedited screenshots
-Badly modified screenshots
-Drawings
-Real photos
-Stolen images
-Images of creatures not related to Balto
-Images not giving proper citation.

I've corrected the forums fonts for Firefox 3.0 : they looked "giant" compared to the normal sizes. It was getting annoying to browse the forums like this, so I had to do it.

I have made many changes to the way the fanarts can be managed on the site. So, if you find some bugs, report them to me.

I did these changes because it will make things easier for me to manage drawings, and at the same time I finally corrected the bug which would prevent you from deleting your drawings.


I have also added a "friend list" option : you can go to someone's profile and add him/her into your friend list, so that you'll be able to get a shortcut to contact him, and will be able to see his/her newest drawings, etc...(it's not complete yet, but the basic stuff is there)

The message that I recieved, and in the Topic Line of the shout box, reads as follows:

"ATTENTION! All members which have mate content in their profiles must remove them by the end of this week (February 17th 2008) due to the "No mates are allowed" policy. Those who will still have mate information after the mentioned date will be banned without any notice."

This is the problem when having to deal with external programs... (and why I prefer to do program myself when it's possible!)

Deezer (the site which offered the music player) has changed, and the embedded music player with it. Not mentionning that the new one is really not nice compared to the previous one (you can't choose which music to play...), it caused some errors on the site. So, I have decided to disable it until they solve that problem (hopefully)

They've said they will offer to use the previous music player soon, so I hope this is true...Stay tuned.

I worked on the first one. The best film I've worked on. One reason the film didn't make it. Amblimation was shut down and employees transfered to LA to Start Dreamworks. Since Steven S started DW it became Universals release and Universal was also sold that year. BAsicly the film was lost in the shuffle. At least that's the way we all felt about it. Only animated film finished on time and under budget. Thanks to a great director Simon Wells.

We all know that Universal has no plan for making a Balto 4, and that it's been a long time since they've forgotten everything about An American Tail.

And now, it's Land Before Time turn...

It's now "official" : Universal has stopped with the Land Before Time sequels, as well as the TV series.

This is a little bit of information I've found on a reliable site :

Universal Cartoon Studios has shuttered the long-running Land Before Time and continues with the popular Curious George, delighting the tots on PBS.
