Likes/loves: Bailei, Nova, sleeping, getting the chance to visit his family, having work to do (sometimes), nice other canines, resting when he gets the time, laying by the fire place.
Dislikes/hates: Vincent, being feared for his size, being disturbed from his sleep, potential enemies, anyone who flirts with either of his girls, making enemies, having too much work to do
Good traits: Cassius was a very big-hearted dog, always willing to please those he loves. He's very loyal to family, friends, and his owner. Will do anything to get others to smile. Just a good guy. He is also very compassionate, caring, and enjoys going out with his mate and daughter. Especially to see the northern lights.
Bad traits: Cassius can be too protective and overbearing. He also has a temper and raises his voice, though he has never once done so with Bailei or Nova. He has a burning hatred for Vincent, Bailei's mate, for just being with her in general. He's very stubborn and enjoys things being done his way or no way at all as he sees they are the safest and most assured.
How they express happiness: His lips will form into a smile and he'll give his tail a few brief wags. He's never seen spastically excited, he always seems to keep a calm disposition.
How they express anger: He won't snarl or curl his lip, but he'll yell and his hackles will raise, not even noticing them to do that sometimes.
How they express sadness: When sad, Cassius never expresses much. He sighs and closes his eyes for a few moments at most, and thinks about whatever it is that's bothering him. He often avoids his problems, rather than facing them. He doesn't want to bring down others if he's sad and wants to remain strong.
How they express fear: Hardly expresses this. If at all, his eyes will widen and he'll gulp a few times, but that'd be it.

Fur type: Long, but surprisingly well-kept for not being brushed and working out in the wilderness every day.

Backstory

Cassius came from a Siberian Husky breeder in northern Alaska who specialized in strength, size, and working bloodlines. Cassius was no exception. The seemingly massive puppy played with his littermates and often toppled over the others. He was one of the largest of the puppies, and was the first to be adopted. He was adopted by a single lumberjack man and was taken on the outskirts of Nome to live his life.

Cassius lived out in the woods til he became a teenager. His owner never brought him into town as a pup and wanted him to sleep and rest while he could. When he reached his teenage years, his visits into town became more frequent. Though the growing husky never strayed too far away from his owner. He was still timid of his surroundings and wanted to learn of things by himself before doing something he'd regret. 

Upon reaching adulthood, Cassius became a full-fledged working dog. He began to haul large loads of logs and wood in which his owner would sell to the woodworker in town. Though one day, while waiting for his master to do business in the store, he was left outside. He decided to circle the block. But he didn't know this decision would change his life forever.

There he met a young, frail female husky by the name of Nova who had just happened to be heading home. Cassius had immediately detected fear in the poor female's blue eyes, though as he sparked a conversation and gave her the friendliest genuine smile he had, the fear went away. The two spoke for awhile. It was awkward as Nova was generally a shy girl and Cassius himself had terrible social skills. Though after having about an hour conversation, the two parted ways and promised to meet again.

Time seemed to fly by as Cassius and Nova's friendship grew. The two really helped each other out. Cassius didn't speak much, but he really enjoyed listening and learning about the red husky. Though he was saddened to find out that she had an unknown disease plaguing her. Nova spoke of this a lot, speaking of it as if it were a normal, harmless matter. Cassius feared for her life as he realized how potentially dangerous this was. The large husky eventually tried to coax the ill other to go to the town's vet. It took a few weeks, in which Cassius and Nova became mates.

Waiting patiently to hear about his lover's report from the vet. He was told she was expecting his puppies. He was more than excited to hear about that, but he was still worried about her. He was relieved to hear that the vet found nothing wrong with Nova. When Cassius got the chance to see Nova again, he'd spend as much time with her as possible as he wanted every moment with her. The two wondered and dreamed of what their puppies would be like for days on end.

When the big day finally came, they both were surprised that there was only one, but still overjoyed all the same. They had a beautiful daughter they named Bailei. Cassius cherished his daughter, playing with and protecting her with all that he had. He dubbed her "his angel" and gave her a lick on the cheek when he said it. It took awhile for the male husky to pick up on, but his mate's illness was progressing. He was horrified for her safety now, and tried to be with her as much as he could. As he was getting older now, his owner often let Cassius go loose and have more days off, though it was still unknown to the lumberjack that his dog had a mate and a puppy to take care of.

Though Cassius spent as much time with his mate as he could, he also wanted to be with his daughter. But to his relief and sadness, adoption day came and Bailei was soon gone. Cassius wished he spent more time with his daughter, but with her mother's declining health, he hoped she'd understand one day. Nova's health quickly went downhill, and they both knew that she would pass away soon. But Cassius stuck by her side as long as he could. Til the end.

Returning to his mate's home as usual, he heard the news. The amazing, beautiful red husky he knew and loved had passed away through the night. Cassius was stricken with horrible sadness and could hardly move for a few days off the porch of his home. But he knew he had to be strong. He had to be there for Bailei now.

Bailei had grown up surprisingly fast. He was happy to see her again as it had been very small visits in between about a year and a half. But as happy as he was to see his daughter, he was furious to find out that she was pregnant with some scraggly brown husky's pups. He wished he was here to protect her more and find out about this strange male, but Bailei reassured him that everything was okay. When his beautiful girl smiled and looked into his eyes, it reminded him of Nova. Not wanting to stress his pregnant daughter out anymore, he simply nodded and smiled. And of course, reminded her that she was his angel and gave her a lick on the cheek. Though the protective father still had a strong, boiling hatred for his new son-in-law.

When the puppies were born, Cassius tried to include himself into their lives as much as possible. Though that was getting hard as the male was aging fast, and from the years of sled-pulling he'd done, he was starting to feel the arthritis sink in. There was a large red male that looked like him, a small brown male that looked like Vincent, and a reddish-orange female pup. Cassius loved all of the puppies equally, telling stories to them when he had the chance and trying his best to play with them. But nothing was as lovely as spending time with his lovely granddaughter, Jenna. After time, he realized Vincent wasn't as bad as he seemed. But of course, he still would never be good enough for his Bailei.

Cassius' visits became fewer and fewer as he became weaker. Though on a special day, Bailei came over to visit him. It was almost like she knew that his time was close. The two had a casual conversation and Bailei started to head off back home after a few hours, only to be called back by Cassius. He gave her a lick on the cheek and whispered "Promise me, you'll always be my little angel. When I'm here or not." In which Bailei slowly nodded to and smiled. The two looked into each others' eyes for a moment, grinning sad smiles. Then they said their usual "I love you, goodnights" and departed. That night, Cassius passed away in his sleep.
